Why I am here on Substack

1. Why this, why now

I launched this space after falling in love with the platform. Since then, I’ve found several poets, friends, and writers I know personally who were already here using the platform. I see this space as a terrific place for launching a book and growing a serious fan base. I started out as a reader, and if that’s all one ever does, there is plenty here to satisfy.

2. My reader community

I’ve had other newsletters in the past, and they were fun, but things changed. I changed. Readers changed. I believe there needs to be a good reader experience to organically grow a thriving community. This is my goal.

3. What’s in it for you?

I will be posting and sharing not just things I’ve written or thoughts I have but also some favorite stories and poems I’ve published in WINK: Writers IN the Know magazine, giving those writers extra exposure. You can subscribe for free—the best deal in the house. What’s not to like about that? However, there is a paid subscription option. Naturally, I would love it if you did that—but only if you want to. I’m simply delighted you are here, but there will be some extra perks for paid subscribers.
